There's something about this time of year where there are certain things that we get in the mood for...you know what I mean?? Like, when it rains or snows you wanna curl up by the window and read a book with coffee or tea or whatever. That kind of feeling is something super comforting and it's GOOD!
Today I share a recipe that was inspired by my mom. She loves tea, I mean she REALLY LOVES it! I remember all kinds of fruity teas she would make....and apple tea was one of them! She inspired this apple cider that I wanna share with you today!
I've posted a video on how I make it but before you watch it you may notice something.....like... I cut up my Fuji apples and left the skins but when you see the pot, there aren't any on my apples...let me explain. I used to make them without the skins when I first started but later realized that it was fine to leave them because they cook down so much that they're super soft and are easily blendable...so what you're watching is the first time I made them while recording, now.....I boil it all! Skins and core but I do remove and toss the cores or you can boil them separately to make a simple apple infused tea!
What you need: + About a gallon of water in a large stew pot (I recycled a plastic iced tea bottle) + 6-7 Fuji Apples or apples of your choice + 1/2-1 cup Brown sugar + 1 can of pineapple chunks + 3/4 cup of dried cranberries + 1-2 TBSP ground cinnamon + 1-2 shakes of ground nutmeg + 1-2 shakes of ground cloves + A blender + A funnel and a mesh strainer + An apple wedger or knife
There are a couple of other things you can add in like honey or orange zest or orange wedges (peeled), pears, even raisins....whatever your tastebuds call for! LOL
Anyhow, here's the video but just so you know, I wanted to make this an easy recipe so all of the contents are edible :P yummmm....ok, here...we....go!!!
I hope you enjoyed the tutorial. If you make this please share that with me, I would love to hear about it!!
Hope you have a very happy and blessed Christmas and New Year!
